Sidebar toggle animation

Ideally, the sidebar animation would use a "morph" strategy similar to the one exemplified here: https://material.io/design/components/buttons-floating-action-button.html#types-of-transitions

For now, I will keep it simple but this issue serves as a reminder to make it more slick.
