Miner Identified as having a Virus by Windows 10

when I download the miner (both CUDA 8 & 9 versions. windows quarantines with the following warning:

Trojan:Win32/CoinMiner.C!cl

This program is dangerous and executes commands from an attacker.

any advice would be appreciated.

if you search the github issues for any miner software in the world you will inevitably find windows user after windows user asking if the miner is malware. It is not malware. It is Free Software https://itwrx.org/ITwrx-news/free-software-free-society

You (anyone) can look at the source code. How long do you think it would be a secret if this were actually (windows) malware? The malware is "your" closed source "security software" that has permission to scan your whole file system and/or MITM your whole internet connection. Security using closed source software (enslaveware) is a dangerous illusion. Consider getting an OS that respects your freedom/humanity.
