Same issue here.
Same. Startpage is enabled in "Other search engines" (although when I went in to check, FF asked me to grant permissions to the addon), and it works on DuckDuckGo still.
Same issue +1
ublock origin prevents it from showing up or blocking anything.
Same issue, can confirm that with uBlock origin disabled, the issue disappears. I tried digging around the UBO logger to find which filter causes the issue, but didn't made any progress.
@ezvision did you find any workaround or custom rule that fixes the issue?

Unfortunately not. I was hoping to bring it to the attention of someone that's working on the project, but it has similar issues with other search engines too #557 . Don't think these other search engines are a priority for the project.
Hello there. I was having the same issue. Disabling java in Ublock for startpage works.
The solution is potentially adding this filter in uBO:
@@||vf.startpage.com/sxp/i/$script,domain=startpage.com

Sadly, It didn't work
Denying Java has its downsides, but upsides too; for example the page loads faster and the search engine works as intended. On the downsides, you lose the menu where you select safe search and such.
Still if somebody finds a fix, it would be welcome.
These are the lists causing the issue after applying the fix suggested by Ublock team member:

It is up to you to turn them off and use ublock as that, or disable java for startpage, gain speed and lose certain search functions like searching by date. On my side, I prefer to filter some stuff so I will just live without java on startpage; that also was sluggish as hell when java was active.
