@jmckenna speaking with Katherina at the IOC offices, CKAN may be a good choice for managing ocean acidification and carbon data coming in to the SDG office and data portal.

The assignment of PIDs to the datasets and metadata is something of key interest here, as is version control and minting of new PIDs on revision of datasets.

@pieterprovoost - who developed the ocean acidification portal for this office - may be able to advise on the status quo technology wise.
