Dreo Smart Devices (Fans, Heaters, Air Purifiers)
Description: I’d like to request an adapter for Dreo Smart Devices — such as their smart fans, heaters, air purifiers, and air conditioners. These devices are Wi-Fi connected and can be controlled through the official Dreo Cloud, as well as integrated with Alexa and Google Home. There is already a working Home Assistant integration that could serve as a great reference for ioBroker.
What kind of device or service would you like to see an adapter for? Name: Dreo Smart Devices Company: Dreo Website: https://www.dreo.com/ Dreo offers smart home climate control devices such as fans, heaters, and air purifiers with Wi-Fi connectivity.
Is the device connected to the internet or only available on a local network? The devices connect to the Dreo Cloud via Wi-Fi. Local communication might be possible for certain models but not officially documented.
Is an official App or Website available? Yes: Android App: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dreo.smart iOS App: https://apps.apple.com/app/dreo/id1599844294 Dreo devices also integrate with Amazon Alexa and Google Home.
Is an official API including documentation available? No official API is publicly available. However, a working unofficial API implementation exists for Home Assistant: GitHub: https://github.com/dreo-team/hass-dreoverse This could be an excellent base for an ioBroker adapter.
Are other libraries for an integration available? Currently, no npm or Node.js library is known. The Home Assistant integration is written in Python and interacts with the Dreo Cloud API.
Is this device already integrated in other Smart Home systems? Home Assistant: via hass-dreoverse Alexa / Google Home: Official integration available
Is this device already integrated in homebridge? Might the ham adapter in combination with the homebridge plugin be sufficient? No official Homebridge plugin is available. Therefore, using ham + Homebridge is not sufficient for Dreo device integration.
Additional context The Home Assistant project “hass-dreoverse” already provides a working reverse-engineered interface for the Dreo API. It would be great to have similar functionality within ioBroker. Forum link (if discussion already exists): please add later
