[🐛] Automatically collected events for In-App Messaging are not sent to analytics in Android

Issue

We use In-App messaging in our app. But automatically collected events are not sent though messaging is shown, only in Android. It works fine in iOS.

Here are the list of events I want to send automatically.

  • firebase_in_app_message_action
  • firebase_in_app_message_dismiss
  • firebase_in_app_message_impression

Please help me if something is wrong with my settings.

Can you show me your firebase.json (if it exists), and update to current versions of firebase and at least react-native 0.67 (upgrade helper should help you get there - the diffs between 63/64/65/66/67 were each pretty small and it's not too hard to update step by step on those ones) https://react-native-community.github.io/upgrade-helper/

It was my fault I didn't know about the limitation https://github.com/firebase/firebase-ios-sdk/issues/4768. Seems it works fine in Android as well. Sorry for my understanding and I really appreciate your cooperation. Let me close this.

I'm not sure I was aware of that either! This stuff is subtle - if by limit you mean this specific comment on your linked issue https://github.com/firebase/firebase-ios-sdk/issues/4768#issuecomment-580489295

we allow only 1 on app foreground or app launch campaign a day - this is to prevent you from accidentally overwhelming your users with non-contextually appropriate messages

If there is anything that could be improved (a warning perhaps?) you as the new integrator will know exactly which documents you hit on rnfirebase.io where a warning might be placed? If you hit the edit button top-right of every docs page GitHub Web UI will walk you through a quick in-browser flow to propose a change, maybe we can save future devs some confusion :-)

I'm sorry for the mix up, but faced this kind of issue again. Metrics are displayed correctly for each message in Messaging page in firebase console. But I can't find expected data for In-App Messaging in analytics, only for Android. iOS works.
