Is there an ODAS For Dummies in the future?

Open jake653 opened this issue 5 years ago • 2 comments

I imagine the user guide the author said is in the works will be of great value to those with modest math and linux coding skills. Perhaps some of the accomplished ODAS users could also contribute documentation yo help the less accomplished users succeed.

Seedstudio sales pages lists a number of potential applications for their line of respeaker boards, but offer little code, beyond Alexa setups and basic ODAS installation instructions. Their typical user probably doesn't have an advanced college degree.

Is the Phoenix branch recommended for novices to try? It looks like it will be easier to use, but I noticed the board config files are all empty, except for one miniDSP. Seems like the board makers should be contributing config files.

Is the "brand new release" reported to be in the works based on the Phoenix build? https://github.com/introlab/odas/issues/116

Thanks To All

Thanks for the feedback. Yes it's in our plan to release a complete tutorial with the first official release. The work in the release will be quite different from the Phoenix branch. New architecture, more modular, easier to work with and to configure.

Any estimation when the complete tutorial (and official release?) will be released? Thanks for sharing, the demo looks amazing.
