A simpler way is to create a github pages blog with RSS, as https://github.com/jekyll/minima

isn't it possible to repurpose the built in updater?

@elypter very nice idea ! but not for the first release as it need more work to re-purpose that one but later why not, the updater in the first release will be just a notification system about updates that can be turned off, the user will still need to install the update manually. why?! because most important thing in order are:

  • Builds and build system for the 20 different releases
  • Quick updater (can not give it a lot of time for the first release)
  • Settings page (give the user the choice)

The first one is the more urgent and important and the one that will take a huge time, there is reason why other similar browser are limiting their platforms i never thought i will be taking that road when i started, at least not directly now... i thought that it will be okay to just patch Firefox (like ungoogled-chromium does for chromium) but a lot of users reported the legal issue so... i had no choice i can not risk an important issue as this one, and it's why there is the temporary version.

Let's have an easier update process. Most users, if not prompted or have it done automatically, won't ever update software
