After an application has been running for a long time, it no longer has audio

If I were to use ego to open an application like a file manager, and click on an audio file, it would open up an media player and sound would work normally. But if that file manager has been open for a long time (hours or days), suddenly any media player opened by that instance would no longer play any audio.

Indeed, this is caused by:

Deserves to be fixed, but I haven't found the motivation to work on ego recently. ~~FWIW, PipeWire is not affected by this.~~

Odd. I am running Pipewire, but I am still running into this problem.

I am assuming you mean applications accessing through pipewire-pulseaudio. The problem still exists in that case. Unless ego allows connecting directly to pipewire and I am unaware.
