Suggested changes and future process HoF website and email

Open wsslmn opened this issue 1 year ago • 0 comments

The website redesign #1252 offers an opportunity to shape a new approach to the HoF and address older issues like an opt-out #363 for the HoF. Below the suggestions:

**Merge of the email (15k entries) and website HoF (39k entries) into the Champions HoF **

  • This shows the combined effort and ties into the 100% compliance approach of internet.nl
  • Domains are listed based on the first day 100% for both tests is achieved

Steps to get your domain on the HoF

  • User gets both the website and email to 100% compliance
  • The user reaches a festive welcome to the HoF results page. The user has the option to opt out of being listed on the HoF
  • The user is shown an opt-in for internet.nl to share the domain in communication on social media, and in public reports
  • The user is notified that Internet.nl reserves the right to respond to a notice and take the domain down from the HoF without reason
  • The user has the option to join a weekly/monthly raffle for a promotion package

Promotion of the HoF and its champions**

  • Newly added Champions get shared on Mastodon after a manual check
  • Newly added Champions are shared in a weekly post on the internet.nl LinkedIn profile
  • Newly added Champions who win the raffle get a package with some internet.nl goodies

Storing the tested domains Internet.nl keeps a register of all tested domains, a timestap for reaching 100% in both tests for the first time, and the opt-in for the HoF.

The Opt-out of the HoF entry In agreement with @dennisbaaten (https://github.com/internetstandards/Internet.nl/issues/363#issuecomment-654168106) users get the opt-out for HoF after reaching 100% for the first time. This prevents abuse of domains already listed in the HoF, and opens the possibility of adding the domain to the HoF at a later moment. It should prevent requests for removal as much as possible.
