Books should expose descriptive metadata

Some modern epubs have extra information that e.g. Stanza exposes with the 'book info' page. An example epub is the War of the Worlds, from Feedbooks: http://www.feedbooks.com/book/35.epub

Another interesting thing the Feedbooks epub has is links to other books from this author, which could be used to generate more traffic/interest.
