Add a way to check for updates and notify the users in case. This should be documented and optionally removable.

Sure, please consider that this would require to set up a server (that we can deploy in our DigitalOcean account) that would handle and answer to such requests. The server part, however you would like to implement it, should be a simple application. We could integrate it in a separate repository in the official IntelOwl organization.
