Installer requires openai API key to proceed
The installer requires an OpenAI API key to proceed, even though Intellibar now supports multiple APIs and you might not want to use that one.
We're fixing this for the next release.
It is like this because it used to only work with OAI until a few months ago.
There are challenges in making it not required, ex: what happens with features like "Read response" that none of the other providers support, but we'll figure it out.
Just reinstalled because I couldn't see my local Llama models available as options in the settings. Now, I can't even load the app because I need to add an OpenAI key.
Are you on 0.39 (latest)? It should not require OpenAI key.
yeah.. did a clean uninstall with AppCleaner. Now, stuck here.
Got it, you don't need an OpenAI key to continue, but you do need to connect to at least one of the providers. We should probably update this to not require a key if you have local models set up.
Yeah.. that would be ideal.
Learned the hard way that I couldn't use my ChatGPT Plus subscription and instead started racking up the API calls. Not the end of the world, but was a good impetus to run llama locally and found it to be more than adequate.
We'll probably dedicate a whole release to better support for local models in the near future.
Love it, thanks guys!
Also.. I think this shifted with the latest release I might be mistaken though. It looks like the local models don't show up in settings any more.
Yes, this changed, you can find available local models behind the ⚙️ button in the app window.
