Yes, this is a known issue. Comments, reviews and some other stuff is only available for items. And we didn't have blogposts & news as items in our previous version. We can consider an obsolete. Now you can create items for both packages & plugins and we hope to re-factor our news & blog plugins to support commenting & reviews functionality.
