New Hyperscan Release to Address Validity Check Bug

Open jmtaylor90 opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

Hi,

Thank you for the quick review and fix for https://github.com/intel/hyperscan/issues/350

As @jlucovsky mentioned, there are users of hyperscan that install from their distribution (rpm, deb, etc). It is much easier to package and release for instance 5.4.2 than integrating multiple patches for 5.4.1 to address the issue.

Is there going to be a new release to address the validity check bug? For what it's worth, I am one of the maintainers of the hyperscan package for Fedora/EPEL so I am quite interested in the answer.

I was hitting this on our RHEL9 hosts, checked today and I was able to update the rpm to hyperscan-5.4.1-2.el9.x86_64 - That was preventing suricata to start but now the issue is solved so I assume this issue can be closed.

Thanks!
