Subscribe to specific action authors
Hi there.
We want to integrate GH to Slack, but I don't really see the option to only get notified when the action(pr/merge/etc) is done by specific people.
Like
/github subscribe owner/repo reviews comments where author=(VladimirMilenko|MyAwesomeTeammate)
Would be a nice addition for integration.
Thanks for opening this issue! The team at GitHub is not actively working on new features for the GitHub + Slack integration. We will still be deploying security/bug fixes and reviewing community contributions. If you would like to help implement an improvement, read more about contributing and consider submitting a pull request.
It would be wonderful to ignore specific authors/labels.
For example: my team has a Slack channel subscribed to pull requests open on GitHub. It's a good reminder that someone is waiting for your review. Recently we added @greenkeeper[bot]
to our organization, and it opens more pull requests than we do. Now, our Slack channel is flooded with notifications that are not as important as our own pull requests and it doesn't make sense to subscribe anymore.
As a user subscribed to pull requests, I would like to not be notified about pull requests labeled as greenkeeper
or opened by @greenkeeper[bot]
.
Yep this would be really useful
It would be wonderful to ignore specific authors/labels.
FYI there seems to be a way for you to do it now with required-label feature https://github.com/integrations/slack/issues/384 I advise you to take a look at it.
Anyhow, the author/owner feature would still be very useful!
Would love to see this feature, critical for large repos with hundreds of committers from different teams.
Chiming in here to voice that this feature would be invaluable to our org; we have 'bot' users that make comments on PRs but the developers don't want to see these show up in Slack because some of them can be very noisy.
Is it already possible to subscribe for authors?
I have a need for this type of feature as well, to filter out the noise of all the automated Dependabot PRs.
I'm doing some research on how difficult it'd be to implement a PR to contribute. My primary concern is the lack of activity on this repo in recent years, though there does seem to be a small trickle of PR merges.
@jules2689 @tebriel (pinging any GH devs I can find who've merged PRs in this repo in recent history) are you able to provide guidance on the likelihood of a PR being accepted for this issue?
@timiyay we are both no longer on this project, hopefully @snankani @gauravsaralMs, if y'all are available, could respond to this issue?
sure @tebriel .. let me check with @ashokirla
Any further update?
+1 being able to subscribe by author and/or assignee would be perfect

This feature would be useful for Slack channels where managers need visibility as to the PRs that their team is opening. Having to create a separate channel for this sucks.
