Subscribe to issue comments only
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. If you subscribe to issues, you do not get issue comments. If you subscribe to issues and comments, you get comments from issues and PRs. Currently, there is no way to subscribe to only comments from issues.
Describe the solution you'd like
If you subscribe to issues
and comments
, but not to pull requests
, then you should not receive comments from PRs. Conversely, if you subscribe to pull requests
and comments
, but not to issues
, you should not receive comments from issues. If you subscribe to comments
but not to pull requests
or issues
, then you should get comments for either neither or both.
Alternatively, there could be a new subscription keyword or path to define where comments are pulled from, e.g. issues/comments
and pull requests/comments
, to allow greater control over comment sources.
Describe alternatives you've considered
I've tried my first recommended solution (subscribed to only issues
, to issues
and to comments
), but neither works the way I desire.
Additional context
- This is related to #1053
- My use case is that we use issues for project management. Several people would benefit from being able to keep up with comments related to issues, because these contain project-based content. However, most of those same people aren't contributing code, and therefore have no reason to be notified of comments in PRs.
