GitHub App must allow user to specify which private channel the user wants the project to be GitHub subscribed to

Hello,

I currently enabled GitHub App in Microsoft Teams to communicate to a channel. It immediately printed its message under General channel and did not let me chose to which channel I wanted the message to be printed to.

I have various GitHub projects referred under different Channels within a Team. Therefore I want that I should be allowed to subscribe to a particular project from a particular channel. Once this is done any updates on / through GitHub web page should reflect under correct channel.

Please help.

Thanks, @rxa1031

@rxa1031 : Only the welcome message goes to the General channel (which is by design as the installation happened at team level, which is represented at General channel)

all the command will work from any other public channel as well

Hello @gauravsaralMs ,

Thanks for the information.

Is there a way to attach the GitHub App to a private channel as well?

I can request the channel creator for help if need be.

Please help.

Thanks, @rxa1031

@rxa1031 : that is not supported by MsTeams, see https://github.com/integrations/microsoft-teams/issues/57 for details
