Decide on new project layout

Problem The current project layout with multiple sub-projects can be hard to understand for new developers. Also, we are mixing multiple components (agent, configuration server + UI, EUM server) in on project. Dependencies (e.g., Java version) are partially unnecessary.

Goal Make a decision how the project layout should look like, taking into account the upcoming migration to OpenTelemetry.

Intended Outcome

  • description of future project layout
  • new issues targeting the restructuring
