[Potential Bug] "Redirect to twitter.com" option seems to be broken

Today I noticed a potential bug whenever the "redirect to twitter.com" option is enabled. I attached a video showing what I mean, but basically, with the option enabled, the website just constantly refreshes until it eventually loads. Also, while I was not able to get this on video, sometimes the site will just give up and not load at all and it just gets stuck on the Twitter logo. It also just randomly refreshes at times, and I think it happens when I have multiple tabs of Twitter open. At first, I thought this might be a problem with certain other extensions and scripts I have enabled that also affect Twitter, but I went on Twitter in incognito with only Control Panel for Twitter enabled and it still happens. Also, it only seems to happen when I'm logged in. It works fine logged out. And it should go without saying that it works fine without this option enabled. I'm not sure if the newest update caused this, or if the site changed something, but it's quite annoying.

Also broken for me, but in a different way — I got logged out and couldn't log back in. Whenever I refresh the page, I get this: Image If I enter my credentials, it accepts them, then the page immediately refreshes and I'm logged out again. And, as I just found out trying to get console logs, if I open https://twitter.com/home?mx=1 directly or just enter twitter.com into the address bar, it works (in the latter case, after some redirects through x.com) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I can't reproduce this, using any combination of logged into/not logged into x.com/twitter.com - could you show me which URLs you're getting redirected to?

I get redirected from x.com to twitter.com, as it's supposed to do, but as shown in the video, it just constantly refreshes every time it redirects me to twitter.com. That's exactly what happens when I try going to Twitter with the option checked. Almost as if someone is just clicking the refresh button over and over again. Sometimes it'll load after a couple tries, sometimes it'll just keep refreshing constantly, and sometimes it'll just give up and stop trying to load at all. This only happens with the option checked. x.com does not have this issue, only twitter.com.

I'm not sure what exactly caused it, as everything was working fine the day before my post, and I did not change or add anything either. If it's just something on my end, I'm really unsure as to what would be causing that.

If you enable Debug mode (click on the version number at the bottom of the options 5 times to make it visible), what do you get for the "redirectToTwitter" logs in the F12 developer console Console tab?

(You'll need to enable "Preserve log" or "Persist logs" depending on your browser)

To be entirely honest, I'm not 100% sure if this is what you wanted, so apologies if it's not. But I turned on debug mode and went on Twitter with the developer console opened (and preserve log enabled) and that's what I got. As expected, it did the refreshing thing again. Maybe something in the log file could point to the potential cause? Let me know if I did something wrong.

Well, I found out what the problem was. It had nothing to do with the extension or any other scripts and filters I had running. It turned out that the problem was Brave Shields. For some reason, disabling it fixed the issue. I have no idea why it was causing issues, but nonetheless, it works now. Sorry about that. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the issue grishka mentioned though.
