Enhancement suggestion: --subset-lalo LATMIN:LATMAX,LONMIN LONMAX option for view.py

Open falkamelung opened this issue 2 years ago • 1 comments

Description of the desired feature Subset information is frequently stored in the *.template file in the form

mintpy.subset.lalo   = 19.23:19.68,-155.83:-155.31    #[S:N,W:E / no], auto for no

Currently we can't copy-paste this into a view.py command because the required syntax is

view.py geo_velocity.h5 velocity --subset-lat LATMIN LATMAX --subset-lon LONMIN LONMAX`

It would be nice to support

view.py geo_velocity.h5 velocity --subset-lalo LATMIN:LATMAX,LONMIN LONMAX
view.py geo_velocity.h5 --subset-lat LATMIN:LATMAX --subset-lon LONMIN LONMAX

i.e. in my example

view.py geo_velocity.h5 velocity --subset-lalo 19.23:19.68,-155.83:-155.31
view.py geo_velocity.h5 velocity --subset-lat 19.23:19.68 --subset-lon -155.83:-155.31

Same for --subset-x, --subset-y.

This looks pretty straightforward to be implemented and is a good-first-issue. I could suggest this to a student if you think this is a good idea.

Are you willing to help implement and maintain this feature?

  • [X ] Yes
