Updates to support py3.12
two updates to make sncli support python 3.12:
- #136 Module 'configparser' has no attribute 'SafeConfigParser' in Python 3.12
- #137 distutils is removed in Python 3.12
Thanks @rexroof Fresh installs in pythonic way of course still doesn't work. As this is a major issue, new version should be released, and Pypi updated.
@samuelallan72 is this something you think could be merged and released?
Hi, sorry, I haven't been involved in maintaining sncli for some time now. I do actually have capacity again to resume maintaining if @insanum agrees. However, please note that I no longer use simplenote, and wouldn't be actively using sncli.
@samuelallan72 please hack away! 👍🏼
I also no longer use sncli though I know this issue is causing problems.
I'm fine with blindly merging this in but I'd like others to review and give some approval. 😄
@insanum I also still don't use simplenote, and I realise it's been almost a year since my last comment here. I'm less busy now though, and I'm happy to keep this on my radar and continue maintaining the pypi package.
This patch looks good to merge. :+1:
@samuelallan72 Thank you! 😃
Any chance we could get a new pypi build (0.4.4) which includes this change such that a more modern version of Python 3 can be used with sncli?
Also, if you're still looking for a maintainer @insanum @samuelallan72 I would be interested as I still frequently use sncli in my project
@toozej Thank you for offering to help out! I've sent you a maintainer invite. 😄
