When I search for a term, there should be a better stack rank of all events that contain that term. In v4.1.1, an old calendar entry shows up before one upcoming in 1 hour. Here's what ranking would work best for me:

• all events within a month, ranked by closest to current time
• all past events

Are you basically suggesting when you edit events they should be in reverse chronological order? Or something more nuanced?

IMO if the order matters at all it's weird to mix different orderings. I'd expect either:

• chronological order, oldest event to newest OR
• reverse chronological for [start] case, chronological for [start] [end]

Alternatively, I could imagine flipping the whole problem around to provide a text-based UI interface (#764) so you could reorder interactively and jump around in the list of events if you're only interested in the first few or last few.
