What? (Business hypothesis)

The RTView cluster performance web dashboard -- now integrated into cardano-tracer.

Why? (Drivers)

1. RTView aims to be easy to set up than classic Grafana-based monitoring solutions -- therefore making monitoring accessible for non-technically sophisticated SPOs -- hence decreasing their operational risks and increasing resilience of the Cardano network.
2. RTView provides deeper integration with the node, because it also gives access to the traces and datapoints -- the abilities that Grafana does not provide (since it's only capable of metrics display).
3. RTView gives IOG means to highlight the metrics of importance -- because we control the default presentation (even if it is configurable). As such, RTView can be seen as an educational tool at IOG's disposition.

RTView is now disabled in the default build configuration. Further development of that component is on hiatus.

Being an optional/experimental component of cardano-tracer, we will guarantee it remains buildable and usable in its current state. To enable it for build, use this cabal flag: -f +rtview.
