What's the use for CPI dividor ?

Hello, thanks a lot for this driver ! .

I was wondering what was use for PMW3610_CPI_DIVIDOR , i.e. is there any difference in using e.g. 1000 CPI / 1 DIVIDOR, and 2000 CPI / 2 DIVIDOR ?
