Custom Decorative Stitches (.pmx and pmu files)

Not sure if this is the appropriate place to ask this. Inkstitch can create embroidery .pes format files. Would it also be possible to also create custom decorative stitches? I believe that they are .pmx ,pmu or .pmv files. If not, any clue where or if these file formats are are documented? Some brother machines can create them using a feature called "My Custom Stitch" by manually entering stitch coordinates. Would seem to me that using something like the inkscape/inkstitch tool would be much easier and faster.

Sounds like it should be possible! The key is figuring out the file format. Once that's nailed down then we can see if any additional features are needed in inkstitch proper.

Would you please be so kind as to open an additional issue over in https://github.com/inkstitch/pyembroidery ? @tatarize is the pro on file formats :)
