websocket not working from default config docker run

Synced my node with default configs, which imply a geth wss port at 9994 on the hosted machine, although when trying to interact with this I get an error connection refused (even from localhost), the 9993 for hhtp works fine. Any ideas on what is the issue or how to debug?
