[Feature Request] Advance story manually

Open SirMetathyst opened this issue 4 years ago • 4 comments

Would love a way to advance the story manually than have the text appear immediately one after another. Right now I want to write a linear story for Scribblehub but may choose to come back and turn it into a branching story for a game/web or use Ink's more advanced features to add variation. If I've got no choices and only text, diverting to new chapters it will push down the window until there is no text which is annoying. I could use choices like "To Chapter 2" for example but it will still print out the entire chapter at once then I'd have to scroll all the way back up.

It shouldn't be too difficult to modify the web export to do this (insert a choice-like button instead of auto advance).

Have either of you been able to figure out how to customize ~~inkle~~ inky to do this?

This feature exists in the Unity Integration:

@lunarcloud @WolvenBard actually this is something I’d like in the inky editor, not the web export.

@SirMetathyst Apologies yes, I meant to say Inky. I'm after the same feature request :)
