Ink file does not save properly

Open SeptemberLemonade opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

I am currently experiencing an issue where the ink file I am working on refuses to save any changes I make- save project appears to do nothing and if I hit the "x" button and try to save when it warns me about losing unsaved changes, it just closes that window and leaves the ink file open- the only way to close the ink file is to do so without saving changes, causing me to lose any progress. I have tried copying all the text over to a new ink file, restarting my pc, and uninstalling/reinstalling ink. nothing has worked so far.

Hey there, I had the same problem as you. For whatever reason, you need to save your ink file into a folder inside your documents folder. In my case, Documents -> Ink Scripts (folder that I created) -> my_epic_story.ink (my epic story) . This is the only way to get the program to consistently save. Saving onto my desktop or any other folder didn't work, for some reason...I still keep a backup .txt of my ink scripts just in case though.
