Text not showing after loading a save

Open yewol opened this issue 5 years ago • 5 comments

Hello guys,

I have a little issue when I'm loading a save from my game built with Unity + Ink.

Typically the scene is correctly loaded, except the "text" (where the story is displayed) which is empty of content. I don't understand why when I load a checkpoint, the text isn't saved as well and redisplayed properly.

In the ink file, I used a variable : the value is changing along the story and the choices made by the players. When the value is changed, I save the game.

Anyone had this issue before?

I'm having the same issue, and I don't know why this happens, I checked the json that is saved and the text I want is in the "outputStream" field so the data is there; the problem is that there is nothing to continue according to the ink code (story.canContinue is false everytime I load the save).

Just wanted to add the same using the latest version of Ink... story.canContinue always returns false after loading a saved story (with or without selecting an option prior to saving).

Any progress on this one? I am seeing the same thing. The current choices are correct and currentText has content, as noted before, the canContinue is false...

I have a work-around now. The key is to capture the state as JSON right after ChooseChoiceIndex() is called. The resulting state is before the knot is rendered and when that is loaded back, the text is property generated, at least for me.
