Datepicker: Add two-click validation to current datepicker using "Apply" button

Currently, the calendar will close upon a click / tap selection on a date. And on a date range picker, will close upon the selection on the end date. Depending on the user types, tasks, and devices, the likelihood of mistaken selection varies.

Not looking to add additional clicks if they are not required, so the thinking is this should be a setting, something like "two-click validation". When enabled, this setting would require users to use the Apply button to validate their date selections, as opposed to having them validated simply by making a selection.
