Any update ?
This is a very strongly desired feature for me as well.
This is essential for "infrastructure as code" were simply creating the token manually and distribute the token isn't possible. Best option right now, is to use the admin token for all applications, and if a single application gets comprimised then the whole database gets compromised.
This is a big "pretty please" from me.
We need this feature to be implemented for a project im working on aswell.
Seems like this won't be implemented in the near future, due to how the API token works as stated by Jay Clifford here in slack.
Any chance this could get implemented for Influx 3.0? This makes automated infrastructure initialization really painful for no good reason.
Also, could someone paste what was posted in Slack here?
