When you **disable** bluetooth from the applet icon blueman will set the bluetooth adapter's power state to Off. Does the headphone turn off if you manually disconnect in blueman manager?
Just checked bluedevil and it also just powers down the adapter without disconnecting everything first. We could disconnect devices before powering down if the user deliberately chose to do this....

Sound a lot like you have a broken dbus environment. Make sure you run `dbus-update-activation-environment` in your session. Check the hyprland docs how and what arguments you need to pass...
To be sure, blueman-applet is the core of blueman and it's supposed to always be running. The applet is what (re)starts blueman-tray (the tray icon). If you are killing it...
Installed hyprlan and waybar. Then setup some basic environment variables for QT, Gtk, XDG_* and a couple others. Added exec-once for waybar and below that exec-once blueman-applet. It worked flawlessly....

Yes it is inconsistent. Changing those is instant apply but they can behave like the rest without much issues (I hope :rofl: ). Marked as enhancement.
