Facebook changed something so messenger doesn't work anymore.
Recently Facebook made some changes, and it seams to have broken Messenger service on FaceSlim.
The text is in Danish and says: The link you have followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed.
Same here. The mobile version leads to 404 too (m.facebook.com/messages).
Same issue for touch.facebook.com/messages in case it can help
So Facebook removed it permanently. No more messenger via mobile web.
Sad.
Messenger lite is not bad in fact IMHO. I use a normal one anyway. Just disabled all its permissions.

Not sure, there are a lot of comments on twitter and other social media saying messenger is down. It may be just a bug ot a technical issue. Can't find any sources about a shutdown of the service.
I see no app called Messenger Lite on F-Droid, can you link it here?

It is a facebook official app available on play store : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.facebook.mlite&hl=fr&gl=US
This problem seems related to the user agent: see https://github.com/indywidualny/FaceSlim/issues/410
Not really sure but I tried what the OP of the other ticket suggested. I took a UA from Moto G that use for "Facebook App 294" and Chrome 86 sound pretty new.
I not have the thumb error anymore but a message saying the link is broken. I set the UA that I tried bellow.
Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; Android 10; moto g(7) power Build/QCOS30.85-18-6; wv) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Chrome/86.0.4240.185 Mobile Safari/537.36 [FB_IAB/FB4A;FBAV/294.0.0.39.118;]
any fix on this?
Facebook is finally telling us "Use Messenger and Carry On" :(
I tried the test version of Frost-For-Facebook and it's working. It use messenger.com if I understand. Maybe it just need few adaptation here because there is already an access to messenger.com if I'm right.
Apparently "SlimSocial For Facebook" on F-Droid also solves this - a very lightweight web-wrapper.
