Input mode word suggestions turned off

Here my keypad does not prompt me with various word proposals, as apparently the input mode is set for a character by character. Just like as if the application is supposed to give choices for me instead of the input mode.

Word suggestions are turned on, of course, for example when I'm typing in this bug here in github.

You do realize this is a webview app, right? This is not a native input/edit text box.
