notifications stopped working

Notifications sort of stopped working for me as well - I am suddenly not getting any Message notifications, though other Facebook notifications work. It used to work fine about some month ago or so. I'm on Samsung J3 2017 with Oreo (patch level Sep 2018, official Samsung OTA image)

At first I stopped getting Messenger notifications, but now I've also stopped receiving FB notifs too.

Nexus 6P Stock ROM, Oreo 8.1.0 Security patch level 5th November
