Channel icons?
I just added emoji in the channel names, and now I'm wondering if there should be a way to choose/upload an actual custom icon for channels.
Personally I think it's just an extra layer of complexity that just isn't really needed, especially when you can use emojis like this and it just works
Adding homepage favicons there would be a specific use case that isn't solved by emojis.
I think favicons only work in regards to feeds. Since channels are folders of feeds I don't think that makes as much sense.
I can see the usefulness of having the ability to define icons but I agree it does add complexity. I think for now it's probably fine without and just using emoji, however I can see it being useful to potentially add in the future.
In terms of cross-platform support, having icons being something served from the server would help greatly. Emoji support is still a bit wonky on non-(Apple|Windows|Android) platforms. I'm thinking about adding this to Lwa requiring the 'media' scope to set a 'photo' property on channels when updating and have Lwa require a proxied image to display.
