More usable list of time zones

Congratulations for this application.

I have feedback on the usability time-zone list.

First, the IANA catalogue definition (e.g. Europe/Paris complemented by CET +01:00 in a drop down is less readable than an alternative compact line that focus on town names rather than continents, e.g UTC+01:00 Paris The latter has all information in ½ the number of lines, and removes the continent name that is not fully relevant to eyeball the correct answer in the scroll-down (e.g. a continent has more time zones, a town represents only one).

Second, the IANA catalogue is too long to scroll, as it offers too many different alternatives for what is effectively the same time zone (e.g. Europe/Paris, Europe/Madrid, Africa/Ceuta, Africa/Algiers....). A shorter list would be more usable as it will require less scrolling e.g. UTC+01:00 Algiers, Amsterdam, Berlin, Rome, Paris, Zurich.

Such shorter list could be created starting from the IANA mapping into cities done by Zoom at https://marketplace.zoom.us/docs/api-reference/other-references/abbreviation-lists#timezones and then further simplify it by e.g. grouping all cities that are in the same daylight saving time zone at the same time. More than one list might need to exist to track which towns are moving from a time zone in the other when this does not happen simultaneously for all example towns in the list (e.g. Quito and Dallas are in the same time zone or not according to whether the US is in DST or not, as Ecuador does not observe DST).

Ideally a list could have no more than about 30 lines, excluding some Australian and Pacific island and territories with non-integer hour offsets.
