Caches don't purge themselves

Describe the bug

I have been using Zulip for the FHIR chat for several years. The Cache and Code Cache directories had filled to unbeleivable levels (750MB and 50MB respectively). This has caused the app to slow down massively. Manually deleting these two directories fixed most of the problem but marking a stream as read is still slow To Reproduce

Just use the desktop app daily for years

Expected behavior

Caches would stale out old data and compact the cache storage.

  • Zulip Desktop Version: 5.9.3
