MacOS dock icon bounce not working

According to a user report, the icon stopped bouncing since 5.5.0.

#510 is the original feature request, but it seems more appropriate for me to file this is as a new bug report instead of reopening that one.

i can confirm that users are affected by this problem. we have reports that the icon stopped bouncing after updating to latest zulip version

The behavior is happening on 5.5 and 5.8.1 of the Mac client.
