This app is shit. No notifications 50% of the time.

The problem

The app is not showing notifications about new messages or unanswered calls.

Environment

  • Wire version that exhibits the issue: All versions released 3 months prior.
  • Last Wire version that did not exhibit the issue (if applicable): -
  • iOS version used to run Wire: 15 and 12.5.5
  • iOS device type: iPhone X and iPhone 6

Details

The person I'm calling to doesn't receive any calls, there are no notifications. After opening the app there may be ONE missed call message EVEN if there were multiple calls unanswered. This also happens to me when they are calling so it is not an iOS version issue. This makes the app unreliable at all given that there might not be any missed call messages even inside the app. It also creates a big problem with the chat history - only one person has all information, and the other doesn't have some calls.

Calling Debug logs (only for calling issues)

  1. You have to have the iOS email client set up.
  2. Reproduce the issue.
  3. Go to Settings -> Advanced -> Calling Debug Report.
  4. Send the report.

Has your issue been fixed? I have been having the same problem for over a month now. First, there’s no notification sound. Yesterday, my colleague was trying to get hold of me but there was notification of incoming calls. We’re getting really frustrated

Android users seem not to have the same problem
