Will there ever be camera support?
Hello! Beware, i am fairly new to waydroid so, go easy.
I am planning on switching over to Ubuntu Phone on my Fairphone. However I NEED to be able to run my banking apps, which need camera access in order to authenticate. Hence, I am wondering if there are any workarounds to get camera support (only need it once to scan a qr code). Or if there are any plans on adding camera support.
Same situation here, just got volla phone x last week.
For me it would be enough to set a jpeg as camera so I could take the picture elsewhere.

Issue should be merged with #170 and #186.

How did you set a picture as camera source? Throigh v4l2?
Hello, this is a very important feature for people like me that want to fully switch to a Linux phone. This feature is needed for banking apps and some other apps that require camera verification.
With the shiftphone 8 coming out now, i believe there will be more phones in the future with native Linux support.
@YourSandwich if you want the feature, you can either contribute it yourself or pay someone else to contribute it for you.
If this is an essential feature for the Shiftphone, I suggest they should contribute a PR or at least donate parts of their income to Waydroid.
I suggest to donate to https://opencollective.com/waydroid. With an annual budget of $500, one cannot pay developers to implement features.
