I was just wondering what are the plans for the future of this project. Will it continue on its own or merge with OpenTelemetry?

I hope one day to be able to merge it with OT. However i didn't saw for now issue on the spec side to discuss that and i can't push this alone. I saw that DD was looking to implement a profiling feature recently, do you know if they are interested into making this feature into OT ?

It's not in the short-term plans, but definitely something that could be considered long-term when it will be discussed in OT.

If all the features are implemented in OT, i think it will be reasonable to deprecate it yeah.
