Search for " " shows backend warnings

Describe the bug When search term is " ", the sidebar shows backend warnings about uninitialized string offsets.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Focus sidebar search field
2. Type one space

Expected behavior Nothing, or possibly sidebar showing blank results.
