Since the RETS 1.8 specification includes both the Update & PostObject transaction types, can PHRETS be used for these types of transaction or is there another recommended method to be able to implement these transaction types within our projects?

There aren't direct methods to do these within PHRETS currently, but there's no reason I'm aware of why they couldn't be added. I don't have an immediate need for pushing updates into a RETS server and don't have extensive experience with that portion of the RETS 1.8 specification which is why it hasn't been included yet, but I'll happily accept pull requests to add that functionality. I've created an #update channel on Slack to discuss this more.

Unfortunately, our project is such that I do have an immediate need to push updates and objects back into the RETS server and although I too don't have a lot of experience in this aspect, I would gladly provide whatever assistance I can to adding this functionality as soon as possible.
