Dear Toleda,

hello, I am installing os x for almost a month, and now almost finished installing except for the sound. your explanation for alcxxxx is really good so I thought I could get my sound, but I can't.

I really did my best as I can, but there is nothing I can do anymore, so I would like to ask your help.

The problem is, I cannot make yosemite detect my ALC892's codec ID. but the more weird is, sometimes it detects. I guess 2 or 3 times per 100 times of rebooting?? I don't know what this kind of weird happens.

it took really long time to understand why my sound is not working, now I know why, but no answer for that.

here is what I did.

1. install HDA enabler kext(only detects nvidia internal sound)

2. check IOreg& HDEF layout id=1 or 2(tried both)

3. tried DSDT or SSDT a. DSDT: extract and did some edit to close error. not sure i did right but no error in MaciASL so tried it. tried sound patch, and get some part from another DSDT file that detects my onboard sound card codec id every time!! but,, unfortunately, this DSDT only give me sound. i cannot install nvidia web driver with this DSDT so i cannot use it. because this DSDT is from another computer so it does not fit my computer just my guess. and i think, since i am using clover so no DSDT with the least option seems to be working better. of course except for the sound.

   b. SSDT: i tried to use SSDT that has only sound setting in it(device(HDEF)) but i cannot make it work. fail to boot.

4. tried almost every alc892 kext file on the web no work.

5. only my computer detects well is nvidia internal sound. with this detected, i can try your 100_v1.0.4b.command. of course no sound. but sometimes(rarely when alc892 codec id detected,) i can get sound.

6. I can get sound as I mentioned above with the other computer's DSDT so I tried many edit in my extracted DSDT, put two DSDT's together edit, cut, paste some part like hdef or hdau, gfx0...etc.. haha.....but I am not good at DSDT, so I cannot make it work. there is no change at all.

my laptop is Clevo.. xeon e3-1231v3(3.4ghz) P750ZM(Z97 chipset) 8gb ram gtx970m 256 m.2 ssd rtl 8111 ethernet sd reader sound: realtek ALC892 yosemite: 10.10.0 or 10.10.2(after install 10.10, download 10.10.2) Using Clover

I am trying to find a way to attach files here, but I can't find. I will get you every files needed to fix the issue, if you have sometime to take a look at it. hope so. thanks for reading, i am not english native, so its hard to say what i want to say exactly.

thanks for the check, fortunately, I made mine work by using voodooHDA. I found HDA codec installer v2.0 10.10 somewhere on the web, and it works. unfortunately, i didn't find out the answer to my hard work by now... really want to know that. maybe I am gonna re-install the Yosemite again soon, and then, I will try apple HDA again with your link above.
