Audio occasionally stops working

Open ilanbiala opened this issue 11 years ago • 6 comments

My ALC892 on OS X 10.9.3 occasionally stops outputting audio. There is no sound coming out of my speakers even though it says the correct output is selected. After a couple of minutes, the audio starts working again.

Any thoughts @toleda?

Mavericks issue, AU Lab errors with "Audio overload occurred". No idea what causes the problem or how to fix.

Is this for every patched ALC kext, is there any method of getting audio working that doesn't produce this side effect?

No, Issue specific to user system. Digital audio does not have the problem.

Digital meaning HDMI/optical audio? Most speakers aren't digital, so how can I get sound through a digital output?

Onboard codec/optical has the same problem. USB is digital.
