Hide menu bar icon

It'd be great to be able to optionally hide the menu bar icon out of the box and not rely on third-party menu bar managers.

Hello; kindly bumping this. Is it something you're willing to consider?

I can't talk for @thompsonate, but this is obviously doable, we just need to think about the ergonomics of the feature. Unfortunately there are more pressing issues to solve (like the rule migration for fixing #75) so this task has really low priority at the moment.

Try using Bartender (not free). I have been using it for years.

Try Dozer. It's free and open source.

You can install it via command line if you don't want to download a .dmg: brew cask install dozer
