APA/AEA style support

Open Vandivier opened this issue 6 years ago • 3 comments

My field is economics and I'd love to use HTML instead of MS Word. I'm not currently sure of any style rule differences between ACM, IEEE, APA, and AEA.

I'd be happy to PR if we can identify the necessary rules. Happy to close if:

  1. We can show ACM or IEEE already satisfies APA and/or AEA
  2. The intent of this repo is not to support outside of ACM/IEEE

turns out AEA uses Chicago Style: https://www.aeaweb.org/journals/policies/sample-references

Still trying to figure out the diff between Chicago Style and ACM, IEEE, APA.

if wikipedia can be trusted, IEEE is also based on chicago style: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=IEEE_style&oldid=908388617

Hey @Vandivier, not sure how all of the different standards fit with each other but I'm open to a pull request for more formats. The ACM/IEEE ones have some extensive layout requirements so perhaps a more stripped down one can satisfy all of APA/Chicago/etc with minimal tweaks.
