BrowserID's not available after Home Assistant restart
My Home Assistant version: 2022.8.7
What I am doing: Automation: After full restart of the Home Assistant perform a Call service: Browser mod: refresh for all devices with running HA app.( i.e wall tablets.)
What I expected to happen: restart app on the specific browserID
What happened instead: nothing - the browserID remains unavailable until first manual restart app / refresh of the browser. note: in previous version 1.5.x this behaviour was not present.
Minimal steps to reproduce: restart Home Assistant and check the state of the browserID's

I have exactly the same issue with it. Using latest version.
Same problem, only even more: browser ID and sensors become unavailable "just like that", every now and then.
I have four tablets on my house walls, i use "browser mod refresh" for auto-refresh when lovelace changed and i did an automation to go back to main lovelace after 60 seconds.
It's pretty annoying since once it works, then all of the sudden it doesn't anymore and i have to re-register browser, but even then it can happen that most of device's sensors are unavailable. At the moment on one of my tablets only "browser battery" is populated, all others are "unavailable". (see picture, "ni na voljo" means unavailable)

This just happened to me as well, all gone, then suddenly they where back. Really anoying indeed. I could see the custom browser-id name in the setting, but it was not set to "active".
Sometimes it's not active, like you say, but sometimes it IS active, but sensors are still (partly) unavailable. Then i have to delete cookies, log-off, log-on again....do wonders to get them back. My above picture was taken yesterday, evening, today when i woke up, looked... voila... all sensors are back again, although i didn't do anything (i was sleeping)... for how long remains to be seen, however...
this is realy annoying i'm planning to roll back to 1.5 in no fix.
I have the same problem, and to get it working again I need to close the app and open it again.
just to keepalive the issue :)
+1 An HA restart makes some BrowserID's not available until I reload the page. Of course, I could handle this via a browser refresh automation as a workaround, but ironically that wouldn't work since that requires browser-mod to be able to reach the browser. ;-)

Is anyone finding utility in this integration/repo given this issue? For me, it overshadows any other issue or basic functionality. @thomasloven Thank you for the integration, but this issue makes it nearly impossible to use. Any chance you could give some attention to this?

I gave up on browser mod. Author doesn’t respond to any requests regarding browser mod for a while now…(i very much hope that he’s ok…?), so i only use browser mod for popups, that part work flawlessly. Sidebar order also (still) doesn’t work, but last update didn’t solve this…
i reverted to 1.5 as this issue makes nearly impossible to use the latest version as you said. Is super annoying.

The popups aren't working flawlessly for me either. In V1 browser mod, I could just put a popup on my tabletscreen (which was off), then when I walked by, the tablet screen went on and I could see the popup (that there is mail or trashcan need to be outside or something). With this version, that popup isn't showing because the whole browser mod is unavailable after certain time... Very annoying.
Should be fixed now.
@thomasloven I just tried this and it does not appear to be fixed. After an HA restart, the browser is unavailable (iOS app running on iPad 4 Mini) until a browser refresh or full app shutdown/restart.
The same, issue is not fixed
@thomasloven Should we just recreate this issue or do you want to re-open it?
I don't have this problem any more. Same with a bunch of others. I think it would be useful if people having this issue dumped some more info, like other plugins, run environment, versions and so on
This is annoying as F please fix it!!!

This is a project someone does in their spare time, it is opensource and I'm sure the owner would welcome a pr or help debugging this. Please never answer with non-helpful, toxic answers like this. It doesn't help and it sucks being a maintainer being pushed around like that.
Since this was fixed, it might be another bug or the same bug reappearing. People with this bug should make a new issue, put ad much info as possible in, and referring this one if relevant
i reverted to 1.5 as this issue makes nearly impossible to use the latest version. it was super annoying. i can't comment if was fixed or not.
It's been like it for a long while, it's making it unusable.
Where did you get the old version from?
